Inside Activities for Your Kids When It’s Too Cold Outside

We are all in the middle of winter, and for most of us, it’s entirely too cold to spend too much time playing outside. I’ve put together some ideas for the kids to do inside, whether it’s a cold day or a rainy day, or you just don’t want to go outside.

• play an active board game

• bake something

• have a scavenger hunt

• have a dance party

• have a color scavenger hunt: you choose a color and let them see what they can find

• play leap frog

• play a cleaning game: set a timer and see who can clean up the most items or clean up their space the fastest - this is a win-win because you’ll get a clean house too!

• build a fort

• make activity stations with all kinds of different activities they can do (jumping jacks, etc.)

• make an obstacle course

• play red light, green light

• play some relay games
