Benefits of Shaving Your Face
You’ll never have to wax any part of your face again. Try shaving your face instead. Yes, shave your face if you’re a woman. I’m telling you, it’s a game-changer. Once you start, you’ll understand the hype. There are many benefits of shaving your face that will have you adding a razor to your cart ASAP.
Benefits of Shaving Your Face
You may not notice it too much, but once you shave, you’ll be amazed at just how much peach fuzz can add up to a lot of extra “fluff” on your face.
The benefits of shaving your face include:
Removes the peach fuzz
Allows makeup to go on smoother - your foundation will never look so good!
Removes excess oil and dead skin cells which helps with cell turnover for a youthful glow
Brightens the skin
Improves texture
Helps skincare soak in better (my favorite benefit)
Once you remove all the peach fuzz from your face, it instantly brightens it up. Your first makeup application after you shave will be so different than before you shaved. Your foundation glides on smoother and doesn’t get clumped up with your peach fuzz.
But my favorite benefit of shaving your face is helping your skincare soak in better. This past year, I started really investing in my skincare routine, and it’s not cheap! So if you too like to invest in skincare, you want it to soak in every nook and cranny.
If you missed it, I invested in a customized skincare regimen from Bethany Patterson (@thedallasinjector), and it was the best thing I ever did for my skin.
How to Shave Your Face
If you’re ready to shave your face to get those amazing benefits, then let’s talk about HOW to actually shave your face. There’s a right and wrong way to do it, and we don’t need to be nicking our face in the process.
I always start by double cleansing my face. Then, I use my toner. Next, I shave my face. I recommend using either a facial oil or shaving cream. This adds moisture back into your skin and allows the blade to glide over the skin easier.

Once you have your facial oil or shaving cream on, you’re ready to shave. My favorite two razors are the Tinkle razor and the Revlon razor. You want to put the blade at a 45 degree angle, pull the skin taught where you’re shaving and do small strokes down your face. You should rinse your razor every couple strokes under water.
After the Shave
After you’ve shaved all parts of your face, then you rinse off the rest of the facial oil or shaving cream with water. Then, do the rest of your skincare routine and finish with a nice moisturizer.
Though I use my own skincare routine, here are a few products to cleanse, tone and moisturize your face.

Depending on how fast your hair grows, you’ll need to shave anywhere from once a week to once a month.
Be sure to clean your blades after each use or simply use a new razor every time you shave. You can clean the blades with rubbing alcohol and cotton pad.
OK, I know what you might be thinking, “Will this make me grow a beard?” And I’m here to tell you NO! It doesn’t make your hair grow back faster, thicker or darker. I’ve been shaving my face for three years, and love the benefits of what it does for my overall skin’s appearance and how it helps with my makeup application and my skincare effectiveness. Once you do it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
