4 Time-Saving Tips to Dominate Your Morning

As a mom, the busiest part of the day for us is the morning – getting ready, getting the kids ready, feeding the dog, picking up the toys from the kids’ morning playtime, and the list goes on. There’s so much to do in the mornings and so little time, and we have to do it all while trying to make it out the door on time!

I have found a few things that help me save some time and help me get my day off to a good start, instead of being stressed and rushed! I hope they’ll help you too.

1. Lay out yours and the kids’ clothes the night before.

I have tried to make it a point to do this, and it is so helpful. My daughter is 4, so she’s in a phase where she wants to pick out her clothes – and will have a complete meltdown if she doesn’t like her outfit. So, I let her help me decide before bedtime what she’ll wear the next day, and it has worked great! When everyone’s clothes are laid out, you just grab them and put them on – no time wasted standing in the closet trying to decide what to wear.

2. Get up before the kids and take a minute to plan your day.

This has become a must in my morning routine. If I’m too tired to get up and I don’t get my quiet time in the morning, I feel like it throws off my whole day. Some days I’m feeling really rested and will get up 2 hours before the kids, and some days it’s just 15 minutes; every little bit helps me get ready to take on the day.

I’ll make my coffee (here’s my favorite coffee maker), read my devotional (I love this one), and I’ll either make a note in my phone or write down my to-do list for that day (here’s a cute daily to-do list). Having plans for the day and doing a “brain dump” first thing in the morning helps me not feel overwhelmed with all I need to get done that day.

3. Simplify your makeup routine.

If you follow me on Instagram, then I know you’ve seen my quick makeup tutorials. I use and am an artist affiliate for Seint Beauty. I use iiiD foundation, and can put my makeup on in about 3 minutes or less in the mornings. Having a quick makeup routine makes me look and feel put together, without taking tons of time each morning. Click here to shop Seint products – you’ll love the makeup and the skincare! I use it all!

4. Prep dinner if it makes sense.

If you’re cooking dinner that night and it can be thrown in the crock pot, do it! Or if your dinner is going to go in the oven, go ahead and get everything prepped and ready so all you have to do is pop the pan in the oven when you get home. This will only take you a few minutes in the morning, but will give you more time in the evening to prep for the next day, play with your kids, or whatever else you need to do.

I hope you’ll implement these things into your morning, and I hope they save you some time so you can dominate your day! Whatever your morning routine consists of, you’re doing great!
